If you’ve had an audit within the last two years, you won’t need to repeat it—the audit remains valid.

Step 2: Address Weatherization Requirements

Based on the audit, you’ll receive an Intake Form with recommendations to improve your home’s energy efficiency. If no upgrades like insulation or air sealing are required, you can proceed directly to installing a heat pump.

If upgrades are needed, they must be completed before moving forward. We’ll help coordinate with a Mass Save-approved insulation company to address any required weatherization.

Potential requirements could include:

Knob-and-Tube Wiring Removal: Must be addressed before insulation can proceed.

Crawl Space Ventilation: Proper ventilation may be needed.

Mold Removal: Any mold in insulation areas must be removed.

Chimney-Vented Water Heaters/Furnaces: Must pass a draft test.
